Dignity and diversity
Respect for human rights and challenging ableism and all forms of discrimination.
Hello, we are ISJ
Instituto Salve Jorge de Inclusão Social is being established in Mauá to promote inclusion, citizenship and autonomy.
Institute being established
To promote social inclusion, accessibility, autonomy and the defense of rights, strengthening family and community ties.
ISJ's proposal brings together initiatives in social assistance, education, culture, sports, health promotion and community development. People with disabilities, neurodivergent people and their families are the permanent core of this mission.
The institute is being established. Its work will be organized around the purposes set out in the bylaws, the available structure and partnerships.
Our priority communities include people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, people with reduced mobility, family members, caregivers and support networks.
The bylaws also provide for activities for people, families and communities experiencing vulnerability or social risk. The diversity of these communities broadens our work while keeping inclusion as its central focus.
The autonomy and leadership of the people served are among the institute's principles. Building inclusion means listening, respecting choices and recognizing different support needs.
What guides our development
Respect for human rights and challenging ableism and all forms of discrimination.
Valuing people's choices, community life and leadership.
A commitment to removing barriers and providing opportunities that consider different needs.
Responsible management, accountability, privacy protection and respect for people's life stories.
The bylaws provide for an association with non-economic purposes, with all resources applied to its social objectives. Formalization is underway.

The origin of this work

The Instituto Salve Jorge project was inspired by Jorge. His name and drawings are part of its beginnings, shaping a project that aims to bring inclusion, autonomy and rights into community life.
That is why choosing the brand begins with his art: an axolotl, a flower and a ladybug. Each proposal preserves the lines and colours of Jorge's drawings and includes two versions, with the full name and the initials ISJ. The community helps choose the design that will represent the institute.
Jorge is the inspiration for ISJ and the creator of the drawings behind the three brand proposals. He has been part of the project from the beginning, through the institute's name and his creativity. The illustration on this page was created from his photos, showing his wheelchair and noise-reduction earmuffs.
Inspired by these beginnings, ISJ is being established in Mauá to support people with disabilities, neurodivergent people and their families. Its vision is a community where everyone can exercise their rights, make choices and participate with the support they need.
